DfT publish Authorisation 969 – The carriage of medical oxygen cylinders – Extension to periodic inspection and test

The UK Department for Transport (DfT) has signed and published Authorisation 969.

DfT has been monitoring the supply of medical oxygen during the COVID-19 pandemic. DfT have decided that an easement to deal with the increased demand being experienced is appropriate.

Authorisation 969, permits the carriage of pressure receptacles of up to 10 litres capacity containing UN 1072, oxygen compressed, that are due their periodic inspection and test between the date when this authorisation takes effect and 31 March 2021 for a period of up to three months after the date of expiry of their periodic inspection and test, unless otherwise revoked.
