EIGA 148/19 – Stationary electric-motor-driven centrifugal liquid oxygen pumps
This publication contains a summary of current industrial practices for centrifugal liquid oxygen pumping systems. It is to be used when specifying stationary, electric-motor-driven, centrifugal liquid oxygen pump designs and installations. It is also a guide for the operation and maintenance of this equipment.
It is not intended to cover other types of pumps such as reciprocating or vehicle mounted. While many parts of this guide can be used as the basis for these other types of pumps, it is not written considering all the special features of those designs.
The purpose of this publication is to provide qualified technical personnel with pertinent technical information to use in designing new liquid oxygen pump installations. It emphasises considerations that will enhance safe, reliable operation of liquid oxygen pumps.
This revision includes vertical high pressure multi-stage pump used in air separation units.
The publication is part of the programme to develop Globally Harmonised publications amongst Regional Gas Associations.
