Position Papers (PP)
Recommendation for environmental guidelines to permit hydrogen plants producing up to 2 tonnes per day. 2018
Hydrogen production, at any scale, requires a permit under legislation. This Position Paper will be used by BCGA to discuss with the Regulatory Authorities a more practical approach to permitting where hydrogen production is only at a scale of up to 2 tonnes per day.
The case for the mandatory fitting of residual pressure valves to gas cylinders containing carbon dioxide. 2020
Steel cylinders are commonly used to contain carbon dioxide. The fitment of a residual pressure valve acts as a safety device which stops the backflow of moisture and other contaminants, preventing internal corrosion taking place. This Position Paper will be used by BCGA to discuss with the Authorities the mandatory fitting of residual pressure valves to steel cylinders containing carbon dioxide.
The use of atmospheric monitoring equipment at authorised testing facilities. 2019
An authorised testing facility (ATF) tests large vehicles that may contain dangerous goods. The Operator of each ATF is required to provide suitable safety equipment, for example, for atmospheric monitoring. This Position Paper will be used by BCGA to discuss with the Authorities our belief that the ATF Operator is responsible for providing appropriate safety equipment.
