To promote safety in the use, storage, transportation and handling of industrial and medical gases BCGA provide a range of publications providing safety information and advice on best practice. These include Codes of Practice, Guidance Notes, Technical Reports, Technical Information Sheets and Leaflets. All publications are reviewed and updated on a regular basis.

Many of the BCGA's publications can be downloaded for free. Where there is a charge for some documents, this can be paid by using a secure online payment system or by arrangement with the staff at the BCGA office. Despatch of printed copies is usually by the next working day.

BCGA publications are produced by and for the gas industry. As BCGA also involve and keep informed government bodies and regulators during the development of these publications they are generally accepted as being an appropriate and safe way of working. As such, they give positive examples of best practice and are recognized for this by the enforcement agencies, such as the Health and Safety Executive. In the event of any legal action they are also given due regard by the courts.
