EIGA Technical Bulletin 09/18 – Safety Data Sheets without Exposure Scenarios

Most customers of EIGA members are aware that according to the REACH Regulation, Exposure Scenarios (ES) could be attached to the Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) issued by their suppliers.

The majority of the SDSs for gases and gas mixtures do not have an attached ES.

Many customers enquire why no ES is attached to the SDS they have received. This Technical Bulletin outlines the various reasons why no ES is attached to a SDS and should help to answer customer queries.

This Technical Bulletin was revised in May 2018 to take into account of a revised guidance document published by the ECHA that clarifies the requirements for flammable gases, such as acetylene.
