EIGA Document 111/16 – Environmental impacts of carbon dioxide and dry ice production

EIGA has issued this revised publication.  A revision of EIGA Document 111/10.

EIGA 111/16 details the environmental impacts of carbon dioxide (CO2) and dry ice plants and gives guidelines on how to reduce their environmental impact.

It is intended to serve as a guide for carbon dioxide and dry ice plants to assist in putting in place a formal environmental management system that can be certified by an accredited 3rd party verifier.

It also aims to provide a guide for operating managers for identifying and reducing the environmental impacts of these operations.

The publication provides the basis for establishing the best available techniques for the purposes of the industrial emissions directive (IED) which covers carbon dioxide and dry ice plants production.

This guidance document is supported by a training package, EIGA TP 18 Carbon Dioxide Plants Environmental Issues, to help communication of the guidance and promote discussions with staff at operations sites.

The training package presentation has been updated in line with the revision to EIGA 111/16.  The training package is only available to EIGA members.

You can view or download these and many other EIGA publications from the EIGA website: www.eiga.eu.
