EIGA Document 161/16 - Gas Compatibility with Aluminium Alloy Cylinders

A revision of EIGA Document 161/10

This document details criteria to establish the compatibility of reactive gas mixtures with aluminium alloy cylinders. Issues include mixture feasibility, destructive and non-destructive testing, gas purity and concentrations, and cylinder controls.

The 2010 edition undertook a fundamental revision in 2016 because in the meantime this EIGA document became a reference document in ISO 11114-1:2012 that itself became a reference document in the packing instruction P200 of ADR/RID.  Therefore the references to the transport legislation have been deleted from the document.
